Altenew July 2018 Stencil Release Blog Hop + Giveaway

Hi there! Welcome to my stop of the AMAZING Altenew Stencil Release Blog Hop! You should have arrived here from Lydia Evans blog . You are almost done and I hope you been inspired so far <3

I created A TON of cards using the newest release. So be ready for a photo filled blog post today. Also at the end of the post, I have a super fun video showing you how I water colored with a stencil! So please stay tuned!

First up is the City Scene Stencil.

With this stencil I made two cards! First up is this awesome Distress Oxyde creation. I started at the top with that purple and moved my way down with different colors. I thought it looked very clean with the white cardstock and simple sentiments using the For You stamp and die set.

The second card using the City Scene Stencil was very much inspired by HBO's Sex and the City. (theme song to SITC goes here)

On a pink piece of card stock I sentecils the outlines of the city with Altenew Jet Black. The "you" die cut was from pink foam and black glitter paper.

To add some additional sparkle, I added Gold Metallic Jewels from Pretty Pink Posh and flickers of Gold Spray.

For this card, I am doing a selective ink blending on the center of my card panel.

Using Altenew inks in Expresso and Sand Dunes I blended the darkest color on the center, and blended outward.

Then using the same color scheme as above on the Just for You floral set. I flickered some gorgeous Forest Glades spray.

Then last but not least, I created this set of watercolor cards using the Flowing Drops Stencil

These set of cards was really fun to create! I'd tell ya how I did it, but as I mentioned earlier there is a video.

Unity Stamp Company | Color Combos with Crystal | Christmas in July | Episode 1

Happy Tuesday friends! Crystal here with my first installment of Christmas in July Series for my Color Combos with Crystal.  We will beat the Christmas card making rush by starting in July with some fresh and fun ideas! I am so excited to be sharing this card made with Mourning Dove and sentiment from Joyous Season.
If you have not seen either of these sets yet, you should definitely check it out; I absolutely love the idea of using a non-Christmas image for this!
On my project for this post, I started out with a white background base since I thought this would especially make those gorgeous watercolor washes really stand out.
Let me tell you how I made this:
  1. I trimmed a white piece of cardstock to be my card base. (I used Neenah 110lb)
  2.  I stamped the sentiment from a Joyous Season using India Ink which is watercolor friendly, (the GIna K Amalgam Ink works too!)
  3. With clean water, I brushed a wash of water to the cardstock directly.
  4. I dropped some red watercolor from my Gansai Tambi pallet.
  5. Repeated the same process from #4 with the green watercolor. Then allow to dry.
  6. On another piece of cardstock, I stamped that gorgeous dove from the Mourning Dove set with India Ink.
  7. Hand cut the dove and add a few brushes of severely water-downed brown watercolor. Focus on the upper part of the dove’s body.
  8.  Flicker gold spray or watercolor to the red and green water-colored cardstock
  9.  Adhere dove with foam adhesive
  10. Enjoy!
I of course made a video for this card! So please press play and let me know your thoughts!  I love seeing your creations on the Unity Show and Tell. Be sure to tag me so I can see it <3
