Gatefold Challenge

This week at Suzy Bee's we DT's had the challenge of making a Gate fold card. This challenge had me thrown for a loop, but my Silhouette Cameo came to the rescue with the super sale on designs they had this past week. I selected Angel Boo from Lacy Sunshine; this design reminds me of a classy winter evening.

For the paper I used is from Pretty Grafiks.

It's baby time! Its baby time  Correction not at our house... yet. ;) Anyways there are so many of my friends who have announced their pregnancies, that a baby card was in order.  I am using PrettyfulDesigns' Baby Cloth line Clip Art. A neutral yellow seemed the right choice on simple white card stock.

The sketch is from this week's Retro Sketches #91

Christmas through a child's eyes. (With Freebie)

I water colored this gorgeous image last night, took it to the hubby and asked "what do you see?"
He didn't see it. Do you? It's suppose to be Jesus looking up. I paired it with a digital stamp of my making and printed it on card stock. This is my favorite card so far.

At the end of this post feel free to take the digital stamp and use it. Please just link my blog back or give me credit for it :)

Last of fall

Its still snowing here and it no longer feels like fall. I had a 2 leafs cut and glittered left from my previous project I decided it was time to "wrap up" the fall stuff and begin with Christmas.

My new markers are still in transit so I am left to use my watercolors. Its a painting on a card!

This baby will be sent to my folks for thanksgiving.

Is it really still fall?

Yes the calender says the Winter solstice isn't until Dec.21 but it sure feels like Winter has arrived.
So since I've decided to stay out of the cold , I created a fall color card that can be used anytime of the year.

The bear is from Kitty Bee Designs' bear collection. I wanted to something different with the bear, so I used my watercolors on it!

Its quite peculiar to see my Halloween/Fall pumpkins surrounded by fresh snow. Take a look my front and back yard.

You can see the dogs had a blast out there and no one has stopped by.

Happy Fallidays

... get it? Continuing on my Thanksgiving card making the idea of a pile of leaves sounded pretty. I went outside to look for one, to my disappointment I found them soggy due to the snow of the last couple weeks.
Oh well, a paper one will do. And it did, with glitter.

Items used here:

  • Glitter on the large leaf silver
  • Heat embossing on the little leaf
  • Die cutting the labels
  • Gem embellishments
Sadly I don't own any fall/thanksgiving sentiment stamps, so I popped up my fav photo suite and created one. Printed it, die cut and paste. Tada!

I will be entering this card to the following thanksgiving/fall challenges.

Laugh~Smile~Love

Recently a paper crafting store opened in our little town of 1200 folks. The store had a promotion for the first 9 people to like their facebook page would win a goodie bag. Guess who was on the computer at the right time? ME! I got a few 6x6 papers, ribbon, and cute pearl embellish. I wanted to make something girly, shabby chic card for a girlfriend who has been spoiling me with little treats in the mail.

So I used my freebies along with with some new goodies I have picked up.

On this card I:

  • heat embossed a pretty flower stamp and sentiment
  • embossed the paper ribbon with my new cuttlebug
  • decorated with pearls
  • added ribbon trimmings
I think this turned out pretty and simple.

This card will be entered in 3challenges. Wish me luck!

XOXO

Crystal

Oh Christmas tree

Living in Pinedale we have some of the coolest mountains and pine areas. Behind our house there is a reserve by the river where the deer seek sanctuary from the the Wyoming wind. I love that area so much we took our family photos there!

Unity stamps has these really neat pine trees stamp that just reminded me of that special place.

Thank you!

Often with today's lifestyle we run around and forget to say "thank you". This weekend my FIL & MIL (father in love & mother in love) is coming to watch the munchkins while the hubs and I take a little weekend trip. Here is a thank you card I made to give him for watching the kids. I wanted something meaningful, simple, clean and not to girly..

This one was made for the following challenges:

Stenciling the master bedroom

Updating the master bedroom can be challenging. At least at our house, I like girly "shabby chic" and my husband is a "woodsy/dark color" kind of guy. We agreed on a paint color, burnt orange. However I felt it needed something.

So I bought a stencil on Etsy, its quite large and I was afraid, however I had already bought it... Besides its paint right? I can always paint over it..

Here is our bedroom... I loved the stencil so much I added the design to our pillows and the curtains.

This has inspired me to try stenciling our guest bathroom in a Damask theme.. To be continued. :)

I entered my stenciling skills on this blog:
